ORIGIN
The total production of this wine comes solely from the eleven year old bush vines on Hoopenburg 35 ha farm.
VINIFICATIONThe grapes were harvested at a modest 240 balling, and then crushed and de-stemmed. Fermentation lasted sixteen days in stainless steel tanks, pressing occurred on day seventeen, with the wine ageing for twelve months in French Oak barrels. A minimal filtration was done before being bottled
MAKER’S TASTING NOTE
In this classically styled blended wine, the flavours of blueberry, plum and cassis are prominent, enhanced by toffee undertones. The wine is full-bodied, with a firm tannin structure. An attractive garnet-red hue adds to the attraction.
